Joyful Hope

People are literally yelling on the news this morning about who to keep in and who to push out. We’ve got a history of those conversations, not only in the U.S., but all over the world.

As for me, I’m trying real hard not to make anybody mad, but I guess that’s not possible if I have to pick a side.

What if we are having the wrong conversation altogether?

Maybe there is no law on gun control or immigration that will really make a difference.  It’s human nature that we are fighting. Maybe we are just not capable of finding an answer on our own.

After all, if we humans could fix things on our own, wouldn’t we have done it by now?

The Christmas story is the promise that:

The wolf will live with the lamb,

the leopard will lie down with the goat,

the calf and the lion and the yearling together;

and a little child will lead them.   -Isaiah 11:6

And I can’t help but wonder…who’s the wolf, and who’s the lamb?

Ralphie’s fight says we are each both.

Scripture says a little child is coming, and he will lead us to love.
