Shine.

The holidays are a time of reflection, and for some of us, it’s tough. Personally after 12 years of preparing for Christmas Eve worship, I find myself oddly still.

Church staff will get this – and if you don’t, even better – it’s weird not worrying about the candles! Has the order arrived? Are they ready? What’s your choice this year…paper or plastic drip protectors?

The holidays are a time of reflection, and reflecting souls are drawn to light. The light of candles, lights on trees, lights on houses decorated and glowing in the night.

John, writer of the Fourth Gospel, said that:

In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. – John 1:4-5

The holidays are a time of reflection, and there are a whole lot of people who are in darkness. You may not think you can help, but you can. All you have to do is reflect the light.
