You Don’t Say?

Spiritual possibility needs our attention. No matter how impossible it may seem. If the result of our attention doesn’t appear to matter, naming the possibility will. Because whatever that desire is within you, that’s your truth. And your truth is your voice.

Zechariah was told by an angel that he and his wife Elizabeth would have a son named John. Which seemed impossible because they were too old to conceive, and John wasn’t a family name. At that time, family names were more than tradition. Name meant connection, security and reputation. Name indicated destiny.

But Zech was skeptical so the angel said to him, “I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news. And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their appointed time.'” (Luke 1:19-20)

When Zechariah’s voice was taken away he had time to nurture spiritual possibility. He decided to accept the truth about his role in God’s plan. Once he could name it – name John – he could speak again because from that point on, he spoke from the inside out.

What’s the holy possibility inside you? Name it, encourage it, and watch it grow! Your truth is important to tell.
