If Then Why?

I spend more time trying to convince myself there is no God than trying to believe.  I’d rather have all the answers myself, thank you very much, and when I offer up my answers I’m not convinced he gets it. Why doesn’t he get it?

Oh…if he would only be more like me…clumsy and confused and ADHD. That would fix everything.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. (Isaiah 55:8)

Thank God.

 

Where are they?

Some Pharisees and Sadducees were on him again, pressing him to prove himself to them. He told them…“You find it easy enough to forecast the weather—why can’t you read the signs of the times? – Matthew 16:1-3

Wouldn’t everything be easier if we just had a sign from God? It wouldn’t even have to be a big sign. Just some little miracle so we know he’s paying attention. Continue reading

#WhyIMarch – The Center

Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” – Luke 23:42-43

The cross of Christ stood in the center…between one man crucified on his left and another on his right. One man said, take me with you! and Jesus did. I firmly believe had the other asked the same, Jesus would have taken him, too. I don’t think he cares which side you’re on, as long as he’s in the center. There, with him, is peace.

I march to find Christ in the center of me who might speak with Christ in the center of you.

What happened to the sheep?

The story goes…

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
