One day Jesus  and his disciples got in a boat. “Let’s cross the lake,” he said. And off they went. It was smooth sailing, and he fell asleep. A terrific storm came up suddenly on the lake. Water poured in, and they were about to capsize. They woke Jesus: “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!”

Getting to his feet, he told the wind, “Silence!” and the waves, “Quiet down!” They did it. The lake became smooth as glass.   Luke 8:22-24(MSG)

Schedule Your Freedom

Dear Calendar, thanks for taking care of me, but I need some flexibility from you. – Me.

My friend and fitness hero Jamie Miles says the best way to stay committed to your exercise plan is to make appointments. For example:

Monday, Zumba, 7pm
Tuesday, Elliptical, 12pm
Wednesday … you get the picture.

Here’s the kicker… if you miss an appointment for some reason, you have to reschedule for a different time that same week.

Take Two and Call Me

Forgiveness is like an antibiotic for spiritual health. Sometimes I find myself metaphorically double dosing but my metaphorical nose is still runs!

What to do? For me it’s simple stuff like dishes; or challenging stuff like doing something for somebody else. Whatever it is it’s do something positive, and pray for the object of my anger.

Better to pray outward than to suffer nausea inward, right?

Gaining is Good

My downstairs carpet absolutely sucks and I just want to get rid of it!!  In fact I’m tempted to pull it up and live with carpet-glue floors. I just…want to lose…that carpet! That’s one of my goals for 2016.

What are your goals this year? Lose weight, get out of debt, clean out the closets?
